Café Noir
A bistro interior in reclaimed wood and aged brass, designed to hold a full evening service without losing its character.
Overview
A bistro interior in reclaimed wood and aged brass, designed to hold a full evening service without losing its character.
Café Noir's owner wanted a room that photographed well on opening night and still looked right eighteen months into daily service. We chose materials for how they'd age — reclaimed timber, waxed brass, a hand-finished plaster — rather than for how flawless they'd look on day one.
Kitchen sightlines, banquette spacing and acoustic treatment were all planned around a full house at peak service, not an empty room during the design walkthrough.

Client story
What it's like to work with us.
“They designed our apartment around how we actually live, not a showroom fantasy. Eighteen months on, nothing feels dated.”
“Every material in the restaurant was chosen for how it would age, not just how it photographed on day one.”
